Earlier in our blog, we announced the large drone racing event to take place in September, 2016 in Berlin. Here are more event details to share!
Finally the date and schedule for the drone racing marathon have been announced.
On Sunday, September 4, 2016, all drone professionals and drone lovers are invited to Berlin-Karlshorst Hippodrome in Berlin where the drone competition will happen from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The event is expected to be the world’s first drone marathon for professional drones. The unmanned vehicles will have to pass the classic marathon distance of 42.195 kilometers flying around the hippodrome in about 30 circles.
During the marathon, the drone masters will have to make “pit-stops” to change the batteries— so the whole tactics of the flight and drone master’s dexterity in general will matter.
Besides the marathon for professionals, the event organizers are also arranging “FPV Racing” and “Happy Hovering” for racers and hobby pilots.
Start-ups dealing with drones will also have their area for presentation: about 1,000 square meters will be at their disposal to present their products and services.
Participants for these various kinds of competitions are strongly encouraged to register in advance. While only registered members will be allowed to enter the property and fly, the whole event will be free.
Registration on the event date will not be possible, so hurry up and get your drones ready
