Our client, ViewRanger GPS, provides outdoor routes easily used on most mobile devices using its mobile application.
To honor Queen Elizabeth`s 90th birthday on April 21, ViewRanger launched a new set of walking routes through areas related to the royal family history.
Now users can find 90 routes – one route for each year of the Queen`s life – in historical places like Royal Residences of London, Windsor Castle, Balmoral, Sandhurst, Berkshire, Isle of Wight and other places significant for the Queen.
The route collection is called Walks with the Windsors.
The routes are provided by both branded map/route publishers and ordinary users of the ViewRanger application who wanted to create a tribute to their dear Queen.
IT Craft cooperated with ViewRanger at the beginning of its life in 2010 – 2011. Our team developed the community website, My.ViewRanger.com, that represents a scalable platform to plot, collect, share and exchange a database of routes for all kinds of outdoor activities like biking, trekking, mountaineering, etc. This platform integrates a great amount of mapping services as free and open-source, custom created for specific countries or regions.
